Who Is Catbird Nature Connection?

Welcome to Catbird Nature Connection. My name is Gray (they / them) and I am the nature connection mentor behind Catbird.

I run a nature-inspired daycare for little ones. As well, I offer one-on-one and small group mentoring for folks of all ages (including adults!). As our world continues to move towards and value technological stimulation, I feel committed to helping kids start off their early years with a deep care and appreciation of nature.

At Catbird, we use sensory awareness and observation skills to investigate curiousities. We find and promote questions through our exploration of the natural world.

In addition to working with children for 20+ years, I have been a life long naturalist that has found ways to connect with nature no matter where I am. Being connected to the natural world is incredibly important in my daily life, and it is wonderful to be able to share this passion and the routines I’ve developed around this connection with children, especially in an urban setting. Connecting with nature in the city is deeply rooted in all the play we do. These first years exploring nature as a child lay the foundation for what will hopefully be a life long love of nature.
